Our company
Van Hove & Co was founded in 1978, and in the beginning mainly active in the Automotive industry. During the years, we’ve expanded our activities in different area’s i.e., steel and metal, construction, nutrition,…
From our location in the harbor of Ghent, a fleet of 40 trucks is driven and continuously followed up by on board units on a daily base. A team of 2 technicians, in our modern equipped garage, makes sure that the fleet is being kept in a 100% technical state.
Thanks to our self-owned truck-wash, the drivers are in the possibility to keep the fleet clean and well taken care off.
Our history
Below some major steps in the history of our company:
1978
Company founded by Jozef Van hove; headquarters at B-2070 Zwijndrecht.
1982
Start-up of 2nd location at Ghent harbor.
1990
Relocation to our new building (current location) at Skaldenpark B-9042 Ghent.
1991
Disposal of the car- and truck-on-truck transports. The company proceeds with curtain side trailer transports and the moving of trucks on their own wheels (jockey’s).
1997
Purchase of first mega trailer, currently +/- 60 in service.
2002
Second generation of the family enters the company (Frank Van Hove).
2005
Obtaining the first ISO-certifications 9001 and 14001.
2007
Introduction from ‘on board units’ in our trucks.
2008
Centralisation and relocation of the headquarters to our current location.
2014
Third generation of the family joins the company’s daily operations (Anton Van Hove).
